THE ASHBY PROJECT VOLUME 3

As the days grow longer and the temperature starts to rise, we wave goodbye to winter hibernation and welcome live music, dancing and sunshine with open arms. With a new season comes fresh, exciting new sounds from abroad - at The Ashby Project Volume 3, we are looking forward to pushing a new wave of artists and genre-defying sounds rooted in UK garage, breakbeat and jungle/drum and bass.

Over the last twelve to twenty four months, garage and breakbeat have seen meteoric rises in popularity. Artists such as Interplanetary Criminal, Main Phase, Skeptic and Soul Mass Transit System are pushing a two-step and speed garage style that has hooked club-goers worldwide to its nostalgic vocals, bouncy organs and heavy subs and wubs. The breakbeat and jungle/drum and bass communities also aren’t far behind the swelling popularity of UK garage. The warm atmospheric vibe of Nia Archives, the mixing prowess of Djrum, or the undeniable energy that Sherelle brings to any show she plays, have all earned their part in pushing this exciting genre back into the limelight and lineups for the biggest events in 2023.

While teased on recent festival rounds, these genres are only just starting to sneak their way onto Melbourne’s club dancefloors. Following this international wave, The Ashby Project Volume 3 is offering Melbourne an intimate sneak peek into the beats that have captivated sets the world over. Featuring Chapel Street favourites, local talent and distinctive personalities, this rooftop exclusive is set to shed some sunlight on a once underground dance scene.

Join us on the 28th of October at the iconic Onesixone rooftop for a truly special event.
